Elly

Ellys wedding was total modern vintage gorgeousness. Opting for a small get together with family and friends, Elly and Tony married then enjoyed a yummy afternoon tea at the Secret Garden in Ashford, Kent.

From the beginning Elly wanted to keep her makeup natural and with a soft vintage edge. Paired with her tea length dress we decided this would look fab.

I always start with a good couple of skin care products to apply to the skin prior to makeup application. This helps to create a natural glow through the skin, keeps the skin hydrated all day and most of all keeps the makeup lasting until the end of the night. Starting off with a cleanse i used Frances Prescott Tri Balm, cleanser toner and moisturiser in one. A wonderful balmy consistency and lemony scent which helps to slough off dead skin cells. I like to spend a good 2 to 3 minutes massaging the skin this increases blood flow and helps to plump out the skin and create and natural radiance. Toning off with La Roche Posay Sensitve Toner helps to remove the cleanser and tighten the skin and pours.

I then when on to layering some serums, moisturisers and primers. Firstly applying Becca Glow Elixir another wonderfully scented product sinks in to the skin, hydrates and brightens. Followed by Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base and First Light primer by Becca, a purple toned primer which helps to counteract any dullness in the skin.

Keeping the base light i used MAC Face and Body Foundation. Elly has some beautiful freckles and i thought it was important that you would still see her natural skin. A light wash of matte colour on the eyes and a well defined lash line using Maybeline Gel eyeliner and a tiny angled brush from Mac i was able to smudge in to the lash line.

Bronzing the skin off with Bobbi Brown bronzer in medium, a pop of nectar blush on the cheeks and Mac Russian Red lipstick finished off the look.

With Ellys hair we trialled a few different options, half up half down and a wavy styled updo. Elly drew inspiration from Billy Faires wedding. We played around with her hair at second trial and came up with what you can see in the images. All off the face with volume and a boho styled bun at the back gave a perfect modern edge to the overall look and showed off the dress.

Ellys bridal nails are another story. Elly has been coming to me for her nails for a few years now and she ALWAYS has something fun, bright and colourful! So why would she want anything different on her wedding day? She went for a beautiful yellow marbled nail which complimented Tony’s tie and went in theme with the gorgeous flowers that I’m sure you have noticed! I asked Tim to get a photo of these on her bouquet and he sure did deliver! Thankyou again Tim :-)

Ellys wedding day was a modern vintage dream and i was so happy she asked me to be a part of it and create this look for her.

Ellys photographer was Tim from TJG Photography and he is the man behind the camera on all these images. Thanks Tim!
