Katherine - An Autumn Wedding

Katherine’s wedding was an autumnal dream. The colours in her bouquet and her bridesmaids dresses where so suited to this time of year. This season is my favourite, not just for weddings but in general everything seems so warm and cosy despite it being most of the time, freezing!

Katherine had 4 bridesmaids, 1 sister and 3 friends. All of them wearing burgundy dresses from ASOS. Together, Katherine and I discussed different options on hair styles at her trial. After a few tweaks Katherine made her decision on all hair styles for her bridal party which resulted in gorgeously tussled hair, half up half down.

Katherine’s hair was also half up half down. Katherine’s hair was the shortest of them all and the thinnest. I needed to make the most of what we had so create a soft curl which would compliment her dress. I also needed to consider her veil too which she would remove during the day. With all hair styles, either styled up or down i will always begin with a blow dry. I will select products to suit the clients hair type and for the style we are going for. Starting the hair style like this helps to create texture and enables me to style the hair as i wish. With Katherine’s hair to double the volume of hair i used a crimper all over the hair. This does sound scary, but it is used very lightly and make such a huge difference to the way the hair looks. For her bridal hair, Katherine didn’t want much volume at the crown and because of all the previous prep that was done it was then easy to take small sections, twist and pin them where desired. I then finished off with blasting the curled sections with shine spray and a strong hold hair spray.

Katherine looked incredible and all the images from Poppy where so dreamy. With Lydia Rae on makeup the morning was super relaxed and enjoyable for all! Congratulations again Katherine, you where an absolute pleasure to work with! xx
